We are proud to announce that with your help, Weego contributed over $10,000 in cash and Weego products to non-profit NGO, Team Rubicon USA!
Team Rubicon unites the skills and experiences of military veterans with first responders to rapidly deploy emergency response teams.
Team Rubicon Engages Veterans.
Thousands of US military veterans, many returning home after fighting a decade of war, find a renewed sense of purpose, community, and identity while using their skills with Team Rubicon.
Team Rubicon Pioneered the Concept of Veteran Focused Disaster Response.
On the streets of Port-au-Prince, in the immediate aftermath of the Haiti earthquake, Team Rubicon’s military veterans realized a simple truth—natural disasters present many of the same problems that confront troops in Iraq and Afghanistan: unstable populations, limited resources, and uncertain information. The skills cultivated on those same battlefields—emergency medicine, risk assessment and mitigation, teamwork and decisive leadership—are invaluable in disaster zones.
Team Rubicon Has Dual Impact.
Is it a disaster response organization? A veteran-focused enterprise? The truth is it’s both. Team Rubicon is the only disaster response organization that repurposes the skills of military veterans while providing them an opportunity to continue their service.
Weego Gives Back to Team Rubicon in 3 Ways
- Weego 66 units were supplied to outfit Team Rubicon’s field trucks. With power needs far exceeding supply during their disaster relief work, Team Rubicon uses Weego 66 as a compact and reliable source of power. Whether jump starting stranded vehicles, charging phones in remote areas to maintain critical communications, or keeping an area well lit, Weego 66 provides the necessary power to make their efforts much less challenging.
- Weego donated Rechargeable Battery Packs to 400 volunteers during leadership training in Houston, TX.
- Cash donations were collected as part of the myweego.com Team Rubicon High Performance Jump Starting Power Packs’ promotion for the month of September (National Preparedness Month). 10% of those sales were given to Team Rubicon.
